Where dar breaks the pattern

  • doy. The yo form of the present ends in -oy, like soy, estoy and voy.
  • di, dio. The preterite takes the endings of -er and -ir verbs: di, dio, dieron. The imperfect subjunctive is built on it: diera.
  • dé. The written accent tells it apart from the word de.
